Simple and easy nail art at home? Yes, please!
When summer comes, I am always itching for the beautiful nails with tan skin. Without exception, this year I am also looking for ideas for simple & easy nail art at home. I just did a “spring cleaning” on the nail polishes that I have accumulated over the years. I am not a “have to get nails done” type of person in general, but before I share some contents or ideas from my research, I wanted to share a little personal experience of manicure and nail care lessons I learned.

Simple Easy Nail Care
Are your nails strong enough? To assess the health condition of your nail, you have to answer a few questions. Are your nails easy or hard to bend? How often do you wear nail polish? Your nails are chipped often? Are your nails discolored? What should healthy nails look like, and what products can you use to keep them at their best?
For a period of time, my nails were easily chipped and slightly discolored. By following nail expert’s advice of some easy steps of nail care, my nails are strong and healthy again.
Step 1: Moisturize your nail
Hand care are always overlooked. After hand washing, I try to give my nails a little extra lotion when applying hand cream.
Step 2: Apply cuticle oil
Not sure this happens to everyone, but after I remove my nail polish, sometimes I experience a burning sensation on my cuticle. It disappeared when I started to apply this cuticle oil after polish remover.
Step 3: Take a break from nail polish
Sometimes, our nails also need a break. I usually give my nails one week of break between polishes.
Simple Easy Nail Polish Application Technique
I am not an expert, nor am I an advanced painter. Here are some techniques I learned from a good friend who is a certified manicurist.
- Paint a thin layer at 45 degree angle.
Start in the middle when applying, don’t apply too much at one time, just keep it even. Wait to apply the second layer till the previous layer is dry.
2. Make sure both hands are on some support, so both hands are steady. It’s hard to paint your own nail at home. Don’t expect perfection, when polish gets your nail a little bit, you can get it off either by your finger nail or a q tip.
3. Practice and practice with patience.
