Have you been wondering if turtlenecks look good on round face? Will turtlenecks make your face look even rounder? This is a question I get asked a lot. I wrote a post about wearing right turtlenecks that flatters a petite figure. In that post, I focused on styling turtlenecks around a shorter neck. Today, in this post, I am going to share some of the tricks of shopping and styling turtlenecks if you have a round face, just like me.
What Type of Turtlenecks Look Good On Round Face
Mock neck turtlenecks is the most flattering style for a round face. The collar is lower than a traditional turtleneck and is not folded over. This style offers a more streamlined and cleaner look which won’t add extra bulkiness to a round face. You can still show some neck wearing mock neck turtleneck so that you won’t look like a bubblehead.
The funnel turtleneck is another choice to wear if you are not sure turtlenecks look good on round face. This collar style is more like a funnel and much lower. It has a bigger opening than mock turtleneck. Wearing this style will render you a look of coziness without all the bulk. It is more comfortable as you won’t feel choked. And comfort is one of the keys to make you look confident and in return look good.

The cowl neck can be another answer to your question about turtlenecks look good on round face. With a relaxed neckline, this comfortable look exposes your neck but still keep you warm in the chilly weather.
If you are really attempted for the coziness and trendy look of an oversized turtleneck look, I would recommend look for turtlenecks that are loose and has a ribbed pattern. The loose chunky turtleneck will render a coziness you wished, but also not very tight on your neck so won’t make you look like you are wearing a medical neck support.
Lastly, you can also try a slim turtleneck. Usually the fabric of this kind of turtleneck is thin, mostly cotton or cotton blend. This is an essential piece if you go for a layered look that is cool and carefree.
What Style To Avoid For Turtlenecks Look Good On Round Face
If you have a defined jaw line, it’s no problem to wear most of the turtlenecks styles, even if you have a round face. But if you have a more chubby lower face, it’s best for you to avoid tight turtlenecks. It’s also not ideal for you to wear those turtlenecks that touch your chin.

How to Style Turtlenecks Look Good On Round Face
Trick 1: V shape illusion
If you have a round face, you will want to balance your face shape and add a little definition. Wear a coat with big V neck shape will achieve just that. Add a pendant necklace will also elongate the neckline by drawing eyes down.
Trick # 2:
If you have long hair, pull up your hair to a pony tail or make a high bun. Avoid wearing big earrings. Keep your neck area clean and minimized.
Texture mixing is a great way to elevate an outfit. Consider wear a pleated faux leather pants with the wool top.
Trick # 3:
If you are to wear a chunky turtleneck, try to do more than two folds, like wearing an infinity scarf around your neck. Leave some space between your turtleneck and chin, this way there’s some negative space between the neck and the face. This will help to keep your facial line more defined.
Trick # 4:
Loosing weight can make your round face loose some baby fat and look more sculpted. I have a couple of post about my experience of Intermittent Fasting, which enables me to successfully lose weight and get rid of my double chin. Try it and you will be pleasantly surprised.
Most importantly, be confident! If you feel good and at easy, you will look good, trust me!
